AlJazeeraEnglish asked:

The Tuareg people of Niger struggle to maintain their nomadic way of life in the face of uranium mining, an industry run by foreign companies that many say is having devastating environmental repurcussions.

Al Jazeera’s May Welsh reports on civilians and rebels in the uranium mining zone.

U.N.’s existence is not helpful. If there is to be change, it will only come from the regular people on the ground

Create an economic cirsis is poor countries and lend them money on high percentage of interest, in return exploit their natural resources. who gives a damn care about suffering of people as long as IMF and World bank secure the interests of blood ******* Multinational Corporations.

A HOSPITAL OFF LIMITS?! What the hell is wrong with those money ******* pigs?! They can at least give those poor people help since they are taking THEIR wealth from them.I have to agree with mightym1, the media here in the United States only shows what benefits them; perhaps those humanitarians haven’t heard anything because of lack of international reports our media broadcasts. (But I hope something is done as soon as possible.)

It’s a sad commentary on the state of our media when al Jazeera is reporting REAL, meaningful stories in contrast to the tabloid journalism we get from our network news stations.

They can thank Nicholas Sarkozy, Chirac, and all the Vatican for their support of this massacre. The colonialists don’t want the uranium or the money, they just want to destroy the land and the people- an act of genocide.
